Energy Management Partner's KVEC Energy Controller® system reduces the amount of energy being pulled through your electric meter.

Which reduces your energy bill.

And it does this without affecting the power your motors need to do their work.

KVEC Energy Controllers® reduce the electricity used to operate compressor motors - such as air conditioners.

Inductive motors (such as those in air conditioners and most industrial motors) draw energy from the Power Company and then return it to the utility's grid. It is one of the fundamental rules of electricity-a completed circuit. A meter records the amount of this flow, and your electric bill results from that measure.

Some systems on the market cycle the motors, turning them off and on to save energy. Our system does not alter the output of the motors. It uses the capability of capacitors to store and release energy to reduce the amount pulled through the electric meter.

A series of capacitors captures and stores a portion of the energy and then sends it to the motor as a part of what the motor requires, reducing the amount of current that is measured - and for which you are billed. The motor never knows the difference. It gets the current it needs, and the change takes place at the speed of light.

Our KVEC system does this in a precisely controlled manner, so it can be specifically tailored to the needs of each motor involved. No other system provides this field-adjustable control.

This precision is vital. Too little capacitance will result in lower savings; too much will increase costs, and possibly damage the equipment. A proprietary design (patent pending), the system features internal capacitance selectors, which allow for increasing or decreasing the amount of capacitance so that just the right amount of power is added to the electrical circuit.

Lesser, fixed-value capacitor bank devices do not have this capability.

The energy saved - with its ever-increasing costs - is substantial. The cost of the KVEC system can be recovered in less than twelve months. In total, the saving will typically return 10 times your investment over the life of the KVEC system. Obviously, this means that your day-to-day operating costs will be lower - and your savings begin immediately

The KVEC system has a service life of 20+ years, and it comes with a unique warranty. Should you need to replace the motor, the KVEC system can be simply applied to the replacement motor, given similar motor parameters.

Energy Management Partner's KVEC is attached "in parallel" at a motor or electrical panel. In the extremely unlikely event it should fail, it will not keep the motor system from working.

Energy Management Partners KVEC technology works whether the inductive motor is old or new. In addition to reducing the operating costs of the motor, KVEC helps prolong its service life by improving the "power factor." That's like correcting the alignment of wheels on your car - it will not only save gas, but the tires will last much longer. For an electric motor, an improved power factor means the motor will run cooler, be less stressed, and thus have a longer service life. This can mean saving thousands of dollars on a new motor.

We can tell you if the a/c units or other motor systems at your site are wasting energy, how much you can save, and what power factor improvements can be gained by putting EMP's KVEC technology to work for you.

We do this with a KVEC Energy Survey. This is a brief but thorough process that is both non-disruptive and inexpensive. With electric rates on the rise, a KVEC Energy Survey is a good first step towards reducing your energy costs.

Our trained associates conduct these surveys. Contact us to arrange an appointment. See the contact information below.
